Cathy M. Dugan
Cathy M. Dugan, 72, of North Whitehall, died peacefully Dec. 27, 2021, in her home with her loving husband by her side.
Born in Altoona, she was the daughter of Dorothy (Crozier) Ihm and the late John Ihm.
The loving wife of Lawrence Dugan, the couple celebrated 51 years of marriage in May 2021.
A 1967 graduate of Parkland High School, she earned an Associate degree from Lehigh Carbon Community College in 1969.
After taking time off to start a family, she returned to school and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Moravian College in 1981.
After a 30-year career working for the City of Allentown, she retired in 2015 as a senior systems analyst.
While she excelled at and took pleasure from her work life, her true passion was for her family and friends.
She enjoyed traveling to Europe and Canada, but the best memories were made during her many trips to Disney World and Ocean City, Md., with her grandchildren.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
A lifelong exerciser, she enjoyed walks at Trexler Park.
She was a lifelong member of Asbury United Methodist Church, South Whitehall.
Lovingly remembered for her optimism, kindness and big smile, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by sons Matthew Dugan and wife, Melissa, of North Whitehall, and Damien Dugan and wife, Tracy, of South Whitehall; grandchildren Ryan, Madison and Caitlin Dugan; brothers John Ihm and wife, Frances, Mark Ihm and wife Patricia; sister Linda Joseph and husband, Harvey; and many adoring nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.
