Mark L. Kuna, 58, of Salisbury Township, died peacefully Nov. 16, 2021, with his loved ones at his side at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the beloved husband of Annie (Bannon) Kuna. They shared over 29 years of marriage. Born in Carbondale, he was a devoted son of the late Peter and Adella Kuna.
He was the valedictorian of the 1981 class of Sacred Heart High School. In 1984 he graduated from the University of Scranton with a bachelor of science degree in accounting, having attained highest academic honors. He was a licensed Certified Public Accountant, a Chartered Global Management Accountant and a member of the Pennsylvania and American Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.
He was a faithful member of St. Thomas More Parish, where he served as a Eucharistic minister and as president of the STM School Board.
He was blessed with a keen intellect, a quick wit and an abundantly generous heart. He was particularly committed to the needs of the poor and to the protection of the unborn.
He loved life. He enjoyed the simple pleasures such as gardening, preparing for the holidays, traveling to Ocean City, Md. with his family and playing with his beloved dog, Holly.
He is survived by his wife; sons, The Rev. Matthew, of Allentown, Ryan, of Los Angeles and Scott, of Pittsburgh; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary and Robert Walter, Elizabeth Ann Bannon, Eileen Bannon, Kathleen and Richard McKernan; nieces and nephews, Noreen McKernan, Andrew Walter, Emily McKernan, Brian McKernan.
