Pennsylvania State Police Troop M have received a significant increase in the number of fraudulent unemployment cases from residents. On July 7, troopers from the Bethlehem, Fogelsville and Dublin stations investigated 10 unemployment scams. Troopers advise the public to observe for suspicious vehicles in their neighborhood and report anyone searching in mailboxes who is not authorized. Victims of an unemployment scams should do the following: Contact the Pa. Fraud Hotline at 1-800-692-7469.

•Start a recovery plan with the Federal Trade Commission by visiting identitytheft.gov.
