Three veterans and three newcomers will be representing Liberty, Moravian Academy, and Bethlehem Catholic diving under returning coach Emily Kocis for the 2021-2022 swimming and diving season.
Moravian Academy senior Alexa Fegley and Bethlehem Catholic junior Anna Petke are back to make another run in districts and states.
Liberty junior Keller Pooley is also returning and qualified for districts last year.
“It felt great to be back,” said Coach Kocis. “There was excitement among the girls that day that they haven’t had since before COVID.”
Since Moravian and Becahi don’t have their own diving programs, Fegley and Petke will dive on Liberty’s schedule at both home and away meets. All practices are also held at Liberty.
“During the summer, Alexa and Keller trained with me at the new Memorial Pool. What a great asset to Bethlehem and our diving program that is,” Kocis said. “I’m looking forward to what these girls have been able to accomplish with such an uncertain schedule the past year-and-a-half. With us being able to train again during the off season we were able to try new dives and get back to doing drills for their technique. There are new dives in all of their lineups which is exciting for them this year. These girls see themselves as one team, representing their individual schools, and it’s great to see them back together.”
Liberty juniors Kayla Elias and Jasmyn Valdez will also be diving for the girls, and Liberty junior Avante Kendall will be diving for the boys.
