The Catty wrestling team picked up a win over Bangor last week, 42-24.
The match started at 152 where Miles Melendez of Catty won by fall over Noah Hills in 3:44. The lead improved to 12-0 after Jaryn Hartranft also won by fall in just 1:13 at 160, taking down Landen Smith.
Bangor’s Alex Klaver and Riley Stapp tied the match with falls at 172 and 189 to make it 12-12, beating Luis DelRosario and Dominic Melendez, respectively.
Catty would then take over the match, winning the next four bouts with a double-forfeit mixed in.
At 215, Chad Beller had a fall in 3:54 over Samuel Woolverton. That was followed by Allen Starr’s fall in 4:26 at 285 over Josh Fuentes-Maldonado.
The bout at 106 was a double-forfeit before Catty got back to its winning ways with a Mikhail Hartranft forfeit victory at 113.
Carlos Cruz was up next at 120 and he had a fall win in 1:02 at 120 over Jace LaBar. That made the score 36-12.
Bangor’s Aidan McNulty won a 6-0 decision at 126 over Jonathan Cordon-Pinto. That was followed by a Landon Uhler 6-1 decision over Catty’s Cole Brown to cut it to 36-18. A fall by David Sipley of Bangor over Vincenzo Limandri at 138 made the score 36-24 before Gavin Fehr of Catty ended the match with an injury time victory over Caidan Poff to make 42-24.
