John F. Schreiner Jr.

John F. Schreiner Jr., 75, a longtime resident of Coplay, died peacefully Dec. 12, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg campus, Bethlehem.

He and his wife, Faye (Werley) Schreiner, were married 55 years on Sept. 10.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John F. and Rose (Mulasits) Schreiner Sr.

He honorably served his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, stationed in Kitzingen, Germany, where he married Faye.

He was a fourth Degree Knights of Columbus for more than 50 years with the Lehigh Valley General Assembly.

The owner of Traffic Consultants since 1975, he was appointed to the Coplay-Whitehall Sewer Authority in 1994, and currently served as chairman. A member for more than 50 years, he was the second vice chairman of the Lehigh County Democratic Committee.

Very involved in his community, he helped start the Coplay Sports Christmas Parade, was co-chairman of Coplay Community Days for the last 10 years, and was a member of the Whitehall-Coplay School Board for eight years.

An avid sportsman, he was a member of several local clubs and he loved to fish, hunt and play golf.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Joh, and wife, Michelle, of Fogelsville, and Mark and wife, Jennifer, of Allentown; grandchildren Tyler, Trevor, Casey, Madison and Emily; sister Barb Krencz and husband, Chuck.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., Coplay, PA 18037.
