Dorothy Marie Lakatosh
Dorothy Marie Lakatosh, 85, from Schnecksville, died peacefully Dec. 10, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Born Oct. 22, 1936, in North Whitehall Township, she was the daughter of the late Willard G. Ruch and Marie R.A. (Hoffman).
She and her husband, David L. Lakatosh Sr., shared 66 years of marriage in June.
As a dedicated homemaker for their entire marriage, she created a loving home by sharing her many talents with her family.
This included her love of baking and eagerness to prepare delicious meals such as her famous Pa. Dutch rolled dough potpie, goulgies, liver soup and countless other tasty dishes.
She took great pride in taking care of their home both inside and out, which included mowing the perfectly manicured lawn of their two-acre property.
She dedicated her life to the love and care of her husband and family, including her beloved dogs, Bella and Lacey, and countless felines.
Her hobbies and talents included playing pinochle and bingo, seeking antiques and treasures to display in her home, and sharing the gift of playing piano by ear to everyone’s delight.
She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.
She will be greatly missed by her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children David L. Jr. (Darla) of Walnutport, Gary J. Lakatosh of Trexlertown, and Kristina M. Kochmaruk (Adam) of Schnecksville; beloved grandchildren Tiffany Brown (Justin), Andrew Lakatosh, Cynthia Sitler (Michael), Katie, Eli and Ashley Kochmaruk; and great-grandchildren Miranda, Madison and Sophia.
She was predeceased by her brother Ernie and sister-in-law Patricia.
A private funeral service will be held in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Schnecksville. There will be no public calling hours.
Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
