Keeping the season merry and bright

Patients of Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute were treated to a holiday celebration, including a visit from Santa, Dec. 14 - courtesy of a Lehigh Township woman who is a breast and liver cancer survivor.

DeeAna Bedics is the founder of Pink Pumpkins Coins 4 Chemo, which supports the Prager Patient Assistance fund at Lehigh Valley Health Network. The initiative, begun in 2014, provides food, financial assistance for bills and holiday gift baskets to cancer patients.

Bedics’ Dec. 14 event was held at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hecktown Oaks, Easton.

Patients currently undergoing active treatment at Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute celebrated the holiday season with their families at the event that included prepackaged food, photos with Santa Claus and gifts.
