Emmaus High School’s Angel Network packs for the holidays

Emmaus High School’s Angel Network is working to assure district families will have plenty of food for the holidays.

As stated on the Emmaus High School website, the EHS Angel Network is “… a ‘giving network’ linked by phone and email and activated by student needs at EHS.”

According to Emmaus High School Angel Network Food coordinator Laurie Fine, this year over 40 school and community organizations, as well as individual donors, contributed approximately 7,000 food items.

Adult and student volunteers then organized and packed boxes of groceries to be distributed to 155 East Penn families. Each family receives a box of pantry food items, a bag of personal care supplies, a bag of apples and a bunch of fresh baby carrots.

In addition, student family members are presented gift cards from either Target or Walmart. Coats and bedding are also available.

The EHS Angel Network brings donors, adult and student volunteers and identified families together and enhances everyone’s holiday experience.
