Craft, vendor fair is a success

Commitment to Family and Community, the former social club of Coplay Fire Company, 165 Cherry St., Coplay, held a craft and vendor fair Nov. 14. The fair featured a wide variety of craft and other items for sale. The fair was well attended.

The kitchen workers were busy serving a selection of light kitchen food.

Janice Ambearle, a longtime member of CFC, said all of their homemade cutout cookies were sold out by noon. The CFC has been selling the homemade cookies for decades and has a following from people who look for their tasty cookies to purchase around the holidays.

Local artist Keith Sodl, of Coplay, had a large vendor stand that featured his woodwork and his painted art. His effort is named Zuzu’s Keepsakes. He named his business after his granddaughter Zuzu, who came to the fair along with her mother.

Tiffany Benson, a secretary at Coplay Borough Hall, had a vendor stand with a number of handcrafted items, such as welcome signs and other attractive Christmas items.

Furniture Farm Woodworking had a vendor stand with intriguing items, such as birdhouses with actual slate roofs with tree branches attached to the bird house. Operator Mike Prevoznik offered cutting boards, salt and pepper shakers, glassware and various kitchen items. Prevoznik’s business is in Lenhartsville. More information about his products can be found on Facebook under Furniture Farm Woodworking.

Other stands were selling candles, diverse knitted items, fascinating jewelry of all types, clothing and household items.

This vendor fair has been an annual fixture of the CFC event offerings. There was a palpable sense of energy among the customers and vendors.

The 2021 edition of the CFC event appeared by all measures to be a success.
