Editor’s note: This letter references a Dec. 8 Bethlehem Press article about Brian Ferencin and the radio controlled car club he has started. Ferencin says in the article that he plans to hold drag races on a borough playground parking lot.

Dear Editor:

Mr. Ferencin will need to seek permission from Borough Council to utilize the park for these activities. There has been no formal request made nor has there been any official approval. As of now, Mr. Ferencin has not been granted permission to use the parking lot or the facilities. He will need to make a request like any other resident, at which time council will discuss and take action.

Unfortunately, the statements in the article have upset several residents who feel that some type of clandestine arrangement was made, which is absolutely not the case. I would appreciate a revision of the article as soon as possible.
