Special to The Press

Lynn Township supervisors passed the township’s 2022 budget in a 2-0 vote on Dec. 9.

Board Chairman Justin Smith was absent.

The millage rate is .02 mils.

According to Secretary-Treasurer Tammy White, “The 2022 projected income is $1.7 million. With $1.6 million in projected obligations, this leaves the budget in the black $100K.”

Supervisors set the reorganization date for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 3, 2022 to be followed by a regular meeting.

Supervisor Brian Dietrich cautioned the 2022 officers may not be able to be sworn in on that date because of the pending legal challenge to the Lehigh County election.

“We never heard anything from the County about possible delays regarding the swearing in of officers,” White said.

Deputy Chief Nick Gruber from the Community Fire Company of New Tripoli reported Christmas raffle tickets for a 2022 Polaris 570 Sportsman Trail model vehicle would go on sale Dec. 12.

He said only 1,000 tickets are going to be sold.

The annual Santa Run will be on Dec. 18.

Photos with Santa will be available 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the fire station, 7242 Decatur St., New Tripoli.

The fire company has partnered with Northwestern Lehigh High School’s SADD Chapter for a toy drive.

Unwrapped toys may be dropped off at the station 6 p.m. Dec. 18.
