Roughies Report: Honor society membership open

Any Catasauqua High School junior who is interested in applying for membership into the National Honor Society for next year should see Mr. Gruver in room B215 for an application.

Support the fundraising efforts of the CHS Class of 2025 by visiting Brother’s Pizza, 1492 Main St., Catasauqua, the first Thursday of every month. Whether you choose to dine in or order takeout, 10 percent of your total check will be donated back to the Class of 2025.

Each month, teachers at Lehigh Career & Technical Institute recognize students for outstanding effort, improvement, achievement or leadership in their career and technical education programs and academic center classes. Congratulations to the following CHS students for being selected for October: Khriz Medina, advertising design/commercial art; Rayanna Johnson, criminal justice; Paolo Demaria, electronics technology/nanofabrication; Amanda Tedesco, painting and design; and Kierra Katen, teacher education.

Were you unable to attend the LCTI’s virtual open house for high school students last month? If so, most of the sessions were recorded, so you can watch them anytime to learn about LCTI’s programs. The event featured live Zoom sessions led by instructors, who were joined by prospective students and their parents.

Are you interested in making career and technical education part of your high school experience? LCTI is offering tours to prospective students and their parents 9-10 a.m. and 1-2 p.m. weekdays. These time frames provide the most realistic experience by showcasing students and teachers in action.
