Northampton Area Food Bank’s December distributions are scheduled 5-7 p.m. Dec. 16 and 9:30-11:30 a.m. Dec. 18.

The food bank is also open 9:30-11:45 a.m. every Wednesday for registration, inquiries, donation drop-offs and produce pickup.

Bring a picture ID with a current address or ID and a bill with the correct address on it. You should reside in Northampton Area School District. You will need names and birth dates of everyone living with you full time.

Northampton Diner and Family Restaurant, 1205 Main St., will hold its fourth annual breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus event 9 a.m.-noon Dec. 18. Seating is first come, first served. No reservations will be taken.

Those in attendance can use their own camera to take photos.

Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714 is seeking veterans willing to serve on its honor guard. The honor guard provides military honors, when requested by families, at veterans’ funerals, memorial services and celebrations of life.

According to the VFW, the ceremony exemplifies the “paying of respect and the final demonstration of the country’s gratitude to those who, in times of war and peace, have faithfully defended our nation.”

Veterans interested in hearing more about joining the honor guard are asked to call 610-216-8952. No experience is necessary.
