Joseph Paul Lettera, of Macungie, formerly of Roslyn, N.Y., died peacefully Dec. 6, 2021. He was the husband of Janice M. (Boerner) Lettera for 67 years.
He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown.
He retired in 1989 as director of athletics and physical education at Roslyn Public Schools where he coached men’s varsity basketball for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Valerie and her husband, Bob Spletzer, of Los Angeles, Calif.; a son, Paul and his fiancée, Angela Ricciardi, of Bay Shore, N.Y.; a daughter-in-law, Pat Boerner, of El Cajon, Calif.; nieces; nephews; cousins; grandchildren, Joseph Alfred and Johanna Maria, of Macungie and their mother, Sue. He was predeceased by oldest son, Joseph M., of Bethlehem; brothers, Alfred, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Fortunato and his wife, Rose; a sister, Viola, all of Boynton Beach. Fla.
Arrangements were made by the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
