Edward O. Flick

Edward “Ned” Ortlieb Flick, 80, of Allentown, died Dec. 10, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth A. “Bette Anne” Flick. They were former residents of Four Seasons, Macungie. They owned a home in Ocean City, N.J. for 25 years, where they spent most of their free time. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Manuel A. and Helene O. (Ortlieb) Flick.

He graduated from Villanova University with a bachelor’s degree in economics.

He was a machinery dealer with East Penn Machinery, which he owned and operated, retiring in 2005.

He was a very active member of St. Thomas More Church where he was a member of the Men of St. Thomas, instrumental in the opening of the church and served as Eucharistic minister. He and his wife were heavily involved in Birthright of Allentown.

He was an avid sport fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his family and more than anything he loved his wife.

He is survived by children: Ted and his wife, Sandy, Liza, Jason and his wife, Jennifer; grandchildren: Beth Ann, Katherine, Rebecca, Margaret, Manuel, Cortney, Sydney, Daniel, Joseph, Gabriel, Luca, Gracie; great-grandsons, Alden and Kelton; a sister, Kris and her husband, Jerry Strid; a brother, Paul and his wife, Daisy; sisters-in-laws, Joan and Lorraine. He was predeceased by brothers, Bill and Peter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:30 a.m. Dec. 16 at St. Thomas More Church. Call 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 16 in the church. Arrangements were made by the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
