Coplay: Christmas events are Dec. 18
Coplay Community Days is hosting its second annual old-fashioned Christmas event Dec. 18 at the community plaza, North Second and Chestnut streets.
Santa will be there for pictures 3-4 p.m.; Sue Rabenold and Michael Scherer will be singing your favorite Christmas songs 4-7 p.m.; and the clock dedication will take place 5 p.m.
There will be hot chocolate, baked goods, chicken noodle soup, pulled pork/chicken and macaroni and cheese provided by Samuel Owens Restaurant and Bar. Chef Dan will be making barbecue, complements of Commitment to Family and Community.

Commitment to Family and Community, 165 Cherry St., will be hosting a visit with Santa 9 a.m. Dec. 18. Tickets include scrambled eggs, sausage and toast or pancakes and sausage with coffee, orange juice, tea or hot chocolate.

CFC is also holding an all-you-can-eat breakfast 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Dec. 19.

The borough office and public works department is set to be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 27 for the holiday season.

Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., is holding a Silvester Feier New Year’s Eve celebration 3-7 p.m. Dec. 31. Emil Schanta will entertain 4-7 p.m. There is a cost, which includes dinner, beer and refreshments.
Reservations are required as seats are limited. Email mschanta@netzero.net to make reservations.
On Jan. 4, 2022, Uncle Smiley Duo will perform 7-10 p.m.
Also, the Sunday polkas continue inside as the weather gets colder.

Coplay Food Bank is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month. The food bank is located in the lower level of the municipal building, 98 S. Fourth St.

Coplay Athletic Club is under new management and is seeking new and renewal members.
A gym membership costs $90 per year and $80 for renewals.
