Bruce H. Gerhart, 83, of Lancaster, formerly of Emmaus, died in his home Nov. 15, 2021. He was the husband of Bonnie R. (Schmick) Gerhart. They celebrated 55 years of marriage. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Grover G. and Elsie P. (Haas) Gerhart.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Bay of Pigs and was employed at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for many years until retiring.
He was a member of Worship Center, Lancaster and a former member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Congregational Church, Emmaus.
He was a baseball and softball coach for the Emmaus Youth Association.
He is survived by his wife; children, Scott and his fiancée, Shelli Sprouse, Shari and her husband, Trent Brabant, Steven and his wife, Andrea; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Ferne Queen; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Dale, Bennett, Donald, Rodney and Richard; sisters, Jean Wilson and EthelMae Brophy.
