Grade: 12
Family: My mom, dad and older brother
Favorite subject: My favorite subjects are biology and biomedical innovations. I have always had an interest in life sciences, especially when they are applied in a medical aspect.
Activities: This is currently my 15th year dancing, doing various styles along with being on a competition team. I am also the president of the National Honor Society and take part in raising money for Angel 34.
Next steps: After high school I plan to attend a four-year university for a degree in biomedical engineering before pursuing medical school.
Career goals: I hope to become a physician after completing medical school, possibly specializing in pediatric oncology.
Heroes: My parents are my heroes. They are both the hardest and most passionate workers, but also prioritize providing the best for our family at the same time. They always put everyone before themselves and make the best of everything.
Hobbies: Besides dancing, I really like traveling and photography, along with spending a lot of time with friends and family.
Volunteer and community work: I volunteer at The Center for Animal Health and Welfare intermittently, along with delivering meals to elderly/disabled individuals for Meals on Wheels. I have been a camp counselor for Camp Smile the past four years, giving cancer patients along with their siblings a week to look forward to. Similarly, I went down to Wildwood, NJ, this past summer for Angel 34’s Camp Flipflop, where pediatric cancer patient families enjoyed a week of vacation.
Likes: I love shopping, being with friends, and positivity.
Dislikes: I don’t like lack of communication of disorganization.
Greatest accomplishment (so far): My greatest accomplishment so far would have to be maintaining a rank at the top of my class and completing over 250 community service hours.
Advice for peers: Know how to balance doing really well in school and enjoying your high school experience at the same time, it really does go by fast!
