Press photo by Dana Grubb Bethlehem resident Louise Valeriano was enjoying lunch with friends at Rosanna's Restaurant on Oct. 26 when Bethlehem's Mounted Police unit trotted by on East Broad Street. Valeriano's late sister, Councilwoman Magdalena Szabo, and she were ardent supporters of the Bethlehem Police department, often donating to support various law enforcement needs, so Valeriano was eager to go outside and meet the officers and their horses. She recalled riding horses as a young woman and savored the opportunity to pet Asa up close as officer Albert Strydesky introduced them to one another.
