NORTH WHITEHALL: Faith Wesleyan Church offering drive-through Nativity, Dec. 10-12

Faith Wesleyan Church, 3356 Route 309, Orefield, will host a drive-through Nativity experience 7-9 p.m. on Dec. 10, 11 and 12.

The Christmas story will be portrayed by costumed people in huts which recreate the town of Bethlehem on the church campus.

Angels, shepherds, kings and the innkeeper will be present, along with goats, sheep and a donkey.

The live scenario will present Nativity events as described in the Bible.

Everything takes place outdoors and is free of charge.

Helpers will be present to direct traffic along the drive-through path.

The Parkland High School Chorale will perform a winter concert 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.

There will be limited seating and tickets are required.

Call the church office at 610-767-6991 to reserve tickets.

Masks will be required for all audience members.

The Sunday School Singers of St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will present the Christmas musical, “Behind the Scenes,” 7 p.m. Dec. 11.

The setting is the town of Bethlehem where people take a behind the scenes tour of the events of the first Christmas.

They eventually realize everyone plays an important role in the story of Christmas.

Following the program, all are invited to enjoy a dessert buffet and beverages with time for holiday fellowship.

The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce and North Whitehall Township will host a tree lighting ceremony and festivities for the community at the municipal building, 3256 Levans Road, from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 12.

Upper Lehigh Lions Club members, who trimmed the tree, will provide complimentary hot chocolate and have their food trailer on site with some other items to purchase.

The event includes holiday music and performances, and craft vendors.

The tree lighting is planned for 6:30 p.m. Children will then have an opportunity for free photos with Santa.

People are invited to bring a canned good or nonperishable item for the Parkland CARES food pantry.
