The Salisbury Recreational Advisory Committee met Nov. 15 at the township municipal building.
Dr. Mark Wilson, Pat Jacoby and Recreation Director Genny Baillie were in attendance.
Since committee members Frank McCullough, Kimberly Ringhoffer and Tricia Dickert did not attend, there was no quorum and no votes could be taken.
Jacoby noted park inspections will take place in March 2022.
Jacoby and Baillie also remarked the dugout at Lindberg Park is for swings.
Baillie talked about the township calendar and received suggestions on photos to be used on the recreation advisory committee page.
The committee talked about the successful events held in the township throughout the year including the IronPigs game, two movie nights and a band concert. They also discussed events for 2022.
The township egg hunt is usually held right before Easter. The committee said they will discuss if this can be held due to COVID-19 concerns at the January 2022 meeting.
Other events planned include an IronPigs game, a movie night, a band concert and a tree lighting event in December 2022 at Franko Farm. Baillie said the cost of a tree to be planted at Franko Farm is included in the budget which still needs to be approved.
Also included in the proposed budget is a water study and repair work at Laubach Park.
The committee also discussed the work completed on the bathrooms recently at Laubach Park. “Public works really did a nice job,” Baillie said.
The committee noted it has been a pleasure working with the new Public Works Director James Levernier.
The next meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. Jan. 17, 2022 in the township municipal building, 2900 S. Pike Ave., Allentown.
