To the Editor:

Lately there has been a lot of talk about spending money on infrastructure and social programs. The amount of money usually is in the trillions of dollars.

These days, people have very little understanding of how much money this actually is.

So although I went to public school and my math skills aren’t the best, I got out my Family Dollar store calculator and tried to figure it out. After several attempts, I came to this realization.

I hope you are sitting when you read this. A person would have to spend $1 million a day, each day, for 2,600 years. That’s right! Not 26 years or even 260 years, we are talking about 2,600 years.

And what’s worse, now the Feds want to spend another $2 trillion.

I have just one question to ask, who is going to pay all this money back? One more thought about tax the rich. If you took ever penny away from every billionaire in this country, you would have enough money to run the federal government for five months. Then what?

So don’t let people fool you about taxing the rich. Twenty percent of the citizens already pay 80 percent of the taxes. How much more can you get?
