Allentown man arrested for alleged drugs and weapons violations

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced the arrest of Harold Bauza, 47, of Allentown, for alleged possession of and intent to traffic mass amounts of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine into the community.

Shapiro announced the arrest in a media release Dec. 3.

Drugs seized were valued at more than $500,000.

Events surrounding the arrest are outlined as follows in the media release:

On Dec. 2, as a part of an ongoing drug investigation in Lehigh County, agents from the Office of Attorney General Bureau of Narcotics Investigations executed a search warrant on Bauza’s residence.

Investigators recovered 372 grams of cocaine; 16 grams of crack cocaine; 2,041 grams of marijuana; $4,450 in cash; a kilo press for bulk packaging and a .380 Ruger handgun, according to the media release.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, the residence is one of two in the investigation.

The first residence is in the 40 block of South 14th Street, Allentown.

Agents investigated a second location in Allentown and during a search at the location recovered more than 39,000 bags of packaged fentanyl and 477.5 grams of bulk fentanyl, or just over 55,000 doses; 156 grams of crystal methamphetamine; 183 grams cocaine; two grams crack cocaine and 1,213 grams of marijuana. An AK-47 assault rifle, ballistic body armor and various items used to package and redistribute controlled substances also were located at the second location.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, items for packaging found at the residence included sifters, grinders, blenders, scales and baggies.

The second location was in the 30 block of North 10th Street, Allentown, authorities noted in the affidavit of probable cause.

The total street value of all of the drugs seized is more than $567,000, according to authorities.

Charges against Bauza include alleged possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, heroin/fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana; dealing in unlawful proceeds and person not to possess firearms.

According to the media release and affidavit of probable cause, Bauza was convicted for felony drug and weapons offenses and is currently on state parole and not legally permitted to purchase or have firearms.

The affidavit of probable cause revealed Bauza allegedly has been selling controlled substances approximately three years and using funds from the sales to finance his operation.

The state narcotics investigators were assisted in the investigation by the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office and the Allentown City Police Department.

The investigation is continuing, according to authorities.
