Ai Orthodontics, 550 Harrison St., Emmaus, held its annual funny fall pumpkin contest with its usual dose of fun and creativity. Ultimately, the beneficiaries of the creatively decorated pumpkins are the children at Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital.

Each year, Ai Orthodontics takes pumpkins to the offices of referring dentists and asks them to decorate the pumpkins for the children in the hospital. This year, 52 decorated pumpkins were returned for the children. Each year, patients, family members and Facebook friends choose their favorites as well as those chosen by judges who visit the office to pick their favorites.

The results of the Facebook voting are in with some very close results.

First place: Teeth-Fiti - Dr. Katherine Rhodes and Dr. Ashley Stuart at Hamburg Family Dental; second place: Sammy Sloth - Dr. Judy Samselski at Building Blocks Pediatric Dentistry in Quakertown; third place: - Super Mario Bros. - Dorneyville Dental - Dr. Joseph A. Rossowski, Dr. Anthony J. Cerami and Dr. G. Low; fourth place: Audrey 3 - Dr. Elliot S. Shear and Dr. Sameer Kapoor at Bethlehem Periodontics; fifth place: Happy Camper - Quakertown Family Dental Center - Dr. Brian Schoenly, Dr. Majid Dastgir and Dr. Gene Tunney; sixth place: So Grilled to See You - Dr. Timothy Lin, Lehigh Valley Endodontics and seventh place: Pumpkin Pooh - Dr. Andrew M. Wakstein and Dr. Eric Holender, ORL Associates.

This year’s judges included Patricia Herald, Rupa Parikh, Debbie Galbraith, Peggy Kline, Michelle Lutte, Brent Labenberg, Elaine Cornetto, Cindy Shoemaker and Susan Galius.

The judges results are also in. Comments were made the judging gets harder every year.

Tomko; second place: Teeth-Fitti from Hamburg Family Dental, Dr. Katherine Rhodes and Dr. Ashley Stuart; third place: The Molar System from Cedar Crest Dental Care, Dr. Vinky S. Pathak and Dr. Linda T. Warren; fourth place: Audrey 2 Little Shop of Horrors from Dr. James K. Shearer Family Dentistry; fifth place: Audrey 3 from Dr. Elliot S. Shear and Dr. Sameer Kapoor, Bethlehem Periodontics and Dental Implants; sixth place: Super Mario Bros. from Dorneyville Dental - Dr. Joseph A. Rossowski, Dr. Anthony J. Cerami and Dr. G. Low and joint seventh place winners were Audrey II Little Shop of Horrors from Dr. Michael W. Schiffman and Emaus Avenue Family BBQ from Dr. Michel Obaid, Emaus Avenue Family Dentistry.

“We are very appreciative of all the time each office took to decorate the pumpkins and getting them to us in one piece! Without each and every one of you participating this would not be as fun and rewarding,” Karen Hobson, Ai Orthodontics, said.
