At the Nov. 9 meeting, the Allen Township Board of Supervisors discussed the Towpath Estates revised final plan.
The supervisors reviewed the original plan approved in 2007. It was revised in 2010 and 2021.
The original plan required large pipes to be placed underneath the railroad track and canal, which would dump into the Lehigh River, according to Engineer Stan Wojciechowski. With changes in the area, the pipes are no longer necessary from a stormwater standpoint. Developers asked for a revised plan approval to eliminate the pipe requirement.
Wojciechowski also stated West 27th Street was only paved halfway, when the agreement says the entire roadway should be paved.
Further, the plan requires the developers to soften a dip in another road, and the west and south lanes along the frontage of the property were to be widened with a rolled curb added.
Also briefly discussed at the meeting was the township’s 2022 preliminary budget, which is available for public inspection on the township’s website. The budget features an unchanged real estate tax rate and will be voted on at the Dec. 14 supervisors meeting.
