Hokendauqua: Operation Santa Claus is planned

Hokendauqua Park & Playground Association and Hokendauqua Fire Company will hold Operation Santa Claus starting 10 a.m. Dec. 12.

Santa and his helpers will hand out oranges and candy. There will be no gift arrangements for this year’s visit.

Bring your camera to St. John’s United Church of Christ, Mickleys, 2918 MacArthur Road, for pictures with Santa 1-4 p.m. Dec. 12.

There will also be crafts and snacks. Bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Toys for Tots.

St. John’s UCC will host a Christmas cantata 10:30 a.m. Dec. 19. The title of the cantata is “Here We Come A’ Caroling.”

St. John’s will also hold a Blue Christmas service 3 p.m. Dec. 19 for those who are grieving to find hope during a difficult time.

St. John’s will hold its Christmas Eve service 8 p.m. Dec. 24.

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, is planning its Christmas Journey event. Enjoy the event and petting zoo, featuring sheep, goats, alpaca and a donkey 3-4:15 p.m. Dec. 19.

There will also be a lighted drive-thru with costumed participants and animals 6-7:30 p.m. Dec. 19.

Consider donating new socks or slippers for those in need. There will also be snacks and hot chocolate to go. No rain date is planned.

Note: There is no longer a second lighted drive-thru Dec. 23 as previously listed.
