Fadel earns dean’s list
Sarah Fadel, of Whitehall, has been named to the summer 2021 trimester dean’s list at Palmer College of Chiropractic’s main campus in Davenport, Iowa.
Palmer College of Chiropractic, the first and largest college in the chiropractic profession, has campuses in Davenport; San Jose, Calif.; and Port Orange, Fla.

Students named to honor society
Kayla Canning, Khoula Jaber and Mackenzy Schutt, all of Whitehall, were among the 50 students inducted into the Zeta chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha), a national honor society for first-generation college students. The induction was held Nov. 19.
The mission of the honor society, which was founded at Moravian University in 2018, is to encourage and reward academic excellence among first-generation college students pursuing a bachelor’s degree at accredited institutions of higher learning. Tri-Alpha chapters provide members opportunities for personal growth, leadership and campus and community service.
Located in Allentown, Cedar Crest College has been named 11 years in a row among the top colleges in the nation by U.S. News & World Report’s Best College Rankings and as a “Top Performer on Social Mobility” 2020-22.
In 2020, the college was recognized as No. 5 among Washington Monthly’s national “Master’s University Ranking” and No. 17 “Best Bang for Your Buck: Northeast.” In addition, the college was ranked nationally in the Council of Independent Colleges for educating women completing STEM bachelor’s degrees who go on to earn Ph.D.s and as a Top 25 school for nontraditional students by Best College Reviews 2017-20. Founded in 1867, Cedar Crest currently enrolls more than 1,400 full-time, part-time and graduate students in more than 50 fields of study.
