BASD’s transportation department continued their three weekend drive Dec. 4 to collect nonperishable food and new unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program. Bus drivers waved signs and accepted donations at the bus parked near the entrance to the Bethlehem Square Shopping Center, and on the weekend of Dec. 4 and 5 another bus was added at Christkindlmarkt on the SteelStacks campus. Working in teams, bus drivers accepted donations and began filling the bus seats. On the final weekend of Dec. 11 and 12, buses will be stationed at the same two locations between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Stationed at Bethlehem Square Shopping Center, driver Brenda Sciascia said the response has been excellent. Sciascia added that “a lot of people have asked how long we’ll be here and have promised to be back.”
