Elmer John Wendell

Elmer John Wendell, 76, of Bethlehem, died suddenly Nov. 27, 2021. Born in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late Elmer and Theresa (Kuti) Wendell. He was raised by John and Mary Wargo. He was the husband of Judyann “Judy” Evelyn (Blayle) Wendell for 53 years.

He was a Liberty HS graduate and attended Moravian College.

He was an U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.

He worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp. and retired from Homer Research Labs. He then worked at the Crayola Experience.

He was a member of St. Anne’s Church, Bethlehem.

He volunteered at the Salvation Army, the Shakespeare Festival and at the St Francis Friary.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Huebner and her husband Brian and Christine Wendell; two grandsons, Shaun and Chase Huebner; a nephew; and several nieces.

He was predeceased by a stepbrother, Francis Wargo.
