The Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Department, along with Upper Macungie Township Bureau of Fire, Cetronia Ambulance Corps, Lehigh Valley Health Network and Northwestern Lehigh School District police participated in Safety Day on Nov. 5 at Weisenberg Elementary School.

Students from kindergarten to fifth grade learned a variety of safety skills including Safety Town, stranger danger, Internet safety, basic first aid, drug awareness, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, fire extinguishers and a junior firefighter recruitment program.

“A huge thank you to the volunteers who donated their time to put this program on for the kids and also to Weisenberg Elementary School staff who assisted in coordinating and hosting this event,” Weisenberg Fire Chief Matt Krapf said.
