Ruth (Shaufner) Bell, 79, of New Tripoli, died Nov. 24, 2021.
She was the wife of the late John R. Bell.
Born March 10, 1942, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Rosswell B. Shaufner and Margaret V. (Sheirer) Shaufner Snyder.
She was a well-respected administrative assistant having worked for the Medical Protective Company of Fort Wayne, Ind., the U.S. Pro-Cycling Federation, Air Products and Chemicals, and Buckeye Pipeline.
An active member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, New Tripoli, over the years, she taught Sunday School, played piano, organized the auction for the church bazaar, served with the Women of the Church, and edited the church newsletter.
Her survivors include sons Michael R. Bell and his wife, Rebecca, of New Tripoli, Mark E. Bell and his wife, Elisa Schuetz, M.D. of Lebanon; and grandchildren Thomas, Emily, Matthew, Andrew and Ada.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Dec. 2 at Ebenezer UCC, 7293 Decatur St., New Tripoli, with Pastor Wally F. Frisch officiating.
Family and friends may pay their respects 1-2 p.m. Thursday in the church.
Interment will follow the service in the adjacent church cemetery.
