Logan Peters, of Whitehall, recently came home from a trip of a lifetime.
He was selected as one of three players of the Miracle League of Lehigh Valley to play in the all-star game in Houston, Texas, Nov. 5-7.
Logan’s parents, Mandy and Jon Peters, along with his younger brother, Griffin, made the trip with him.
The Miracle League organization holds an annual all-star event for players with special needs from the United States, Canada and Mexico. This year’s event was enjoyed by 103 participants and included an opening dinner at Minute Maid Park, a home run derby, the all-star game and an awards ceremony.
When asked about his favorite part of the trip, Logan replied, “Getting my ring was the best part.”
He also danced the night away at the banquet.
Mandy said, “It was a great experience filled with hugs and love. It was amazing.”
Logan, 20, has been playing Miracle League baseball since he was 6 years old and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2015. Currently on the Orioles, he said his favorite positions to play are shortstop and third base.
Logan added his favorite part of playing baseball is hitting home runs.
He said, “I’m one of the big hitters and hit four home runs at the home run derby.”
Logan is a 2019 graduate of Whitehall High School, where he is known as “The Mayor.” He was an equipment manager for many different sports teams and became friends with many of the players and students.
