Everyone in the Northwestern Lehigh community is invited to the first-ever tree lighting ceremony from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 5 at Ontelaunee Park, Lynn Township.
There will be something for all ages, including crafts and vendors in the lower pavilion, and hot chocolate and hot dogs in the upper pavilion.
Members of the Lynn Heidelberg Historical Society will be leading tours of the train station in the park during the celebration.
Pastor Wally Frisch from Ebenezer United Church of Christ, New Tripoli, will say the opening prayer at 5 p.m. and then there will be community acknowledgments.
The Northwestern Lehigh High School a cappella group will perform at 5:10 p.m. and a rhythm and dance performance will follow at 5:30 p.m.
Youngsters from Northwestern and Weisenberg elementary schools will then provide holiday music at 6 p.m.
The “piece de resistance,” of the evening, the tree lighting, will take place at 6:30 p.m.
Then, the kiddies can visit and have their photos take with Santa until 7 p.m.
To help the less fortunate in the community, consider bringing along a nonperishable item or two for the Lowhill Food Pantry food drive.
The evening’s celebration is being presented by the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber, Lynn and Heidelberg townships, and the HoneyDone List Company.
