Despite the best technology, winter weather predictions can be way off.
Every year we get a storm that catches us by surprise. This winter, let’s get prepared. Have snow shovels or snowblowers, salt and candles handy. If you have a generator, make sure it’s ready to go.
For your car, pack water bottles, kitty litter and a phone charger, snacks and little games for the kids.
Check on your neighbors when the power goes out.

Everyone is invited to the Northwestern Lehigh 2021 tree lighting at Ontelaunee Park from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 5. Tree lighting is 6:30 p.m.
Tours of the train station and photos with Santa will be available.

Living Stone Fellowship, New Tripoli, will have its monthly family and community get-together 6 p.m. Dec. 11.
There will be a free meal featuring ham, yams, green bean casserole, salad, rolls and dessert, followed by Christmas crafts and fun.
