Virginia P. (Beaky) Smallets, 88, died Oct. 31, 2021. Born in Emmaus, she was the first child of Mary and Charles Beaky. She was the oldest of three children. Her sister Frances, lives in Emmaus, where she will be buried.

She worked in payroll for many years at Air Products & Chemicals, Trexlertown, where she met Walter one evening after work. He asked her to dance and their courtship led to them marrying on Dec. 6, 1975 and were married just shy of 46 years.

She had no children of her own but loved children and was a wonderful stepmother to Scott, aunt and great aunt to many nieces, a nephew, great nieces and great nephews.

She loved to play tennis and golf and go to the casinos in Atlantic City.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Dec. 4 in Calvary Cemetery, Emmaus. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
