This year Matt and I joined the Sheeprock Hike on Thanksgiving morning. We have done it in the past and always enjoyed it; other years our motivation to get up when the alarm goes off at 4:45 a.m. has been lacking. Our children flat out refused to consider 5:30 a.m. even existed.
Our hike this time came with a little trepidation. It was Matt’s first hike after breaking his wrist at Philmont so he was very careful not to fall. For me, after two broken bones in the family this year, I was very careful not to make it a trifecta.
We were thankful for the opportunity to view the sunrise over the Lehigh Valley on a beautiful Thanksgiving morning and for the successful hike with no broken bones.
The copy deadline for the Jan. 5, 2022 column will be Dec. 30.
