The Northampton Area Food Bank December distribution dates and times are 5-7 p.m. Dec. 2, 9 and 16 and 9:30-11:30 a.m. Dec. 11 and 18.

The food bank is also open 9:30-11:45 a.m. every Wednesday for registration, inquiries, donation drop-offs and produce pickup.

Bring picture ID with a current address or ID and a bill with correct address on it. You should reside in the Northampton Area School District. You will need names and birth dates of everyone living with you full time.

Northampton Fire Department will hold its annual Operation Santa Run beginning noon Dec. 11.

If you would like your child to receive a gift from Santa, who will be riding on a firetruck, drop off a gift 6-8 p.m. Dec. 8, 9 or 10 at the station, 4 Lerchenmiller Drive.

Gifts should be wrapped and no bigger than a shoe box. Include your child’s name and address and a phone number.

Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714 is seeking veterans willing to serve on its honor guard. The honor guard provides military honors, when requested by families, at veterans’ funerals, memorial services and celebrations of life.

According to the VFW, the ceremony exemplifies the “paying of respect and the final demonstration of the country’s gratitude to those who, in times of war and peace, have faithfully defended our nation.”

The VFW honor guard is experiencing dwindling participation.

Veterans interested in hearing more about joining the honor guard are asked to call 610-216-8952. No experience is necessary.

Monday night bingo has resumed at Northampton Banquet and Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. Doors open 5:30 p.m., and the games will begin 7 p.m.
