Joseph Frank Marakovits, 83, of Northampton, died Nov. 18, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit, Allentown. He was the husband of Dorothy A. (Wilton) Marakovits for 62 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Joseph and Helen (Jurinko) Marakovits.

He was in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a former commander of the U.S. Power Squadrons for many years.

He was an accountant for Air Products until he retired. He then worked for nine years at Paolo’s Restaurant, Northampton.

He was a priest at St. Therese Anglican Catholic Church, Northampton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sandra and her husband Barry Bowen and Christine and her husband Jason Sheckler; three grandchildren, Nicole and her husband Augustin, Bradley and his wife Kaitlyn and Laura Bowen; four great-grandchildren, Aryana, Sabella, Lily and Logan; a sister, Patty Ann and her husband Roland Hunsicker; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas and David.
