Emmaus High School students prep for latest December happenings

As students and staff return from Thanksgiving break, Emmaus High School plans for holiday events and December’s newest activities.
For senior boys interested in competing for the reputable “Mr. Emmaus” title, the annual performance-based competition will be held Jan. 27, 2022.
Competition applications, due Dec. 3, can be found outside rooms 442 and 537. Applicants will then attend a mandatory meeting after school in Room 442 Dec. 3. Updates for Mr. Emmaus can be found on the Student Government Association’s Instagram page: @sga_ehs.
The Communities in Schools program will offer three skill-building groups for student support. The Stress Management group and Grief and Loss group both begin Dec. 6. The Executive Functioning Skills group begins Dec. 10.

EHS will hold its Winter Choral Concert 7:30-9:30 p.m. Dec. 7. District families are encouraged to attend this holiday performance regardless of relation to a chorus member.
The EHS Counseling Office is now hosting in-person college visits. Offered to juniors and seniors only, the upcoming trips include Cheyney University 1 p.m. Dec. 10 and University of the Arts 2:30 p.m. Dec. 14. Interested students can sign up for trips and find the latest updates using Naviance.
The Red Cross Club is hosting a raffle fundraiser to benefit Yemen through Red Cross International. Raffle tickets can be purchased outside the cafeteria during all lunch periods through Dec. 14. The drawing will be held Dec. 15. Prizes include Apple AirPods, gift cards and a first aid kit.
The Young Democrats Club will visit New York City’s Madison Square Garden Jan. 21, 2022, to experience Trevor Noah’s “Back to Abnormal” tour. For more information, visit Room 533. Forms and fees are due Dec. 23.
The Foreign Cultures Club has postponed its Winter Holiday Festival to a later December date. Updates can be found on the club’s Schoology page. For those interested in volunteering or joining the club, use the code in the EHS announcements to enter the Schoology group.
Juniors interested in planning the junior prom can complete the Google form linked in the Class of 2023 Schoology page.
EHS’s eSports team streams its Rocket League and other video game competitions on Twitch. Use www.twitch.tv/emmaus_esports to watch live games. Those interested in joining the team can find the Schoology group code in the EHS announcements.
