You’re invited to attend Lehigh Elementary School’s tree-lighting ceremony, set 6-7 p.m. Dec. 3! Visit Lehigh Elementary’s Facebook page to fill out the Google form or visit forms.gle/wwJxHhL55u5xALX29 if interested, so the school may plan accordingly.

Santa will be there for photo opportunities. There will be songs performed by the chorus and cocoa and cookies. It is a free event, but the school is accepting donations for the local food bank.

For its 36th year, Moore Elementary School will once again be serving as a collection point for the annual U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign.

Each year, thousands of new, unwrapped toys are collected throughout the Lehigh Valley. Items are then wrapped and distributed to those families identified by The Salvation Army and other agencies as being in need of assistance to make the year brighter. This is a chance for students to help those close to home.

Collection dates run through Dec. 10. Items can be brought to school by your child and placed in the donation bins in the lobby.

Kick off your holiday season by seeing Pennsylvania Classical Ballet Academy students perform “The Nutcracker,” set 7 p.m. Dec. 11 and 2 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Roxy Theatre, 2004 Main St., Northampton. The academy is located in Northampton and has several Northampton Area School District students in its program.

Lehigh Elementary’s Sunday night storytime has been a success. Tune in 7 p.m. on the school’s Facebook page for a staff member reading his or her favorite book.

The theme is “The more you read, the more things you will know, and the more you know, the more places you will go!”

Reminder for NAHS students about parking: Students who are parking on the streets in Northampton, make sure not to park on the streets where you need parking permits from the borough. It is possible your vehicle will be ticketed if parked there.
