Ruth L. Coval, 92, died Nov. 22, 2021. She was the wife of the late Daniel Coval for 61 years.
Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Schenkenberger and Daisy (Barber) Schenkenberger.
She was a 1946 graduate of Parkland High School and a 1950 graduate of Kutztown University. She earned a master’s degree from Kutztown University.
She taught in the Parkland school district. She was then a reading specialist for the Whitehall School District.
She was a member of St. John’s Church, Northampton.
She was a Girl Scout troop leader in Neffs for many years and later was a consultant.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel and partner Dot of Collegeville and Mark and his wife Monique of Philadelphia; and three grandchildren, Kristen, Katelyn, and Jacqueline.
She was predeceased by a stepmother, Elda Schenkenberger; a brother, Glen; and a sister Blanche.
There will be a calling hour from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Nov. 26 in the Brubaker Funeral Home Inc., 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, 18037. There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1343 Newport Ave., Northampton, 18067.
