Valeria M. Stalsitz, 106, of Allentown, died Nov. 18, 2021, surrounded by all she loved, in her home.
She and her husband, Edward A. Stalsitz, were married 67 years at the time of his death in 2009.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late William F. and Margaret M. (Muringer) Sweeney.
In addition to being a homemaker all of her life, she assisted in the family business, the former Sweeney and Stalsitz Sporting Goods, Allentown. A 1933 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School, she was a longtime member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown, where she was a receptionist until age 93.
She is survived by her children William and his wife, Dorothy (Layton), of Southern Pines, N.C., Jean, wife of Hugh Gallagher, Christine Stalsitz Mack, and Edward G. Stalsitz, all of Allentown; grandchildren Hugh, Karen, Edward, Kristin, Colleen, Sean, Jeanine, William, John, Erin and Megan; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
She was predeceased by brothers Vincent, George, Jerome and William.
