The borough of Northampton will host its annual Christmas tree lighting 5:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at the triangle, Main Street and Laubach Avenue.
Rumor has it a very special guest will arrive about 6 p.m.

Northampton Fire Department will hold its annual Operation Santa Run beginning noon Dec. 11.
If you would like your child to receive a gift from Santa, who will be riding on a fire truck, drop off a gift at the fire station, 4 Lerchenmiller Drive, 6-8 p.m. Dec. 8, 9 or 10. Gifts should be wrapped and no bigger than a shoe box. Include your child’s name and address and a phone number.

Assumption of the Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1301 Newport Ave., is holding a nut roll sale. Flavor choices include apple, apricot, coconut cream, lekvar, nut, poppy seed, red raspberry and pumpkin/cheese.
For cost and to place orders, call Marty at 610-682-4458 no later than Nov. 28.
Nut rolls can be picked up 9:30 a.m.-noon Dec. 11 at the church.

Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714 is seeking veterans willing to serve on its honor guard. The honor guard provides military honors, when requested by families, at veterans’ funerals, memorial services and celebrations of life.
According to the VFW, the ceremony exemplifies the “paying of respect and the final demonstration of the country’s gratitude to those who, in times of war and peace, have faithfully defended our nation.”
The VFW honor guard is experiencing dwindling participation.
Veterans interested in hearing more about joining the honor guard are asked to call 610-216-8952. No experience is necessary.

Monday night bingo has resumed at Northampton Banquet and Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. Doors open 5:30 p.m., and the games will begin 7 p.m.
