For the holiday, Coplay Borough Public Works will be closed Nov. 25 and 26.

There will be no yard waste pickup Nov. 26. Grass and leaves will now go out with your trash.

Grass collection has been suspended until the spring of 2022.

The borough’s tree-lighting event is set for Dec. 2 at the municipal building, 98 South Fourth St. Festivities will begin 6:30 p.m.

Entertainment will feature Lori and James. Hot chocolate and doughnuts will be provided. Goody bags will be given to all children in attendance.

Coplay Saengerbund is holding a holiday filling sale through the end of the year. Preorders are not necessary. Just stop by to purchase Elsie’s famous filling, 205 S. Fifth St.

The Michael Ann and Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation is holding an ugly sweater holiday party fundraising event 6-11 p.m. Dec. 11 at American Club of Coplay, 300 Cherry St. The event is for adults 21 years old and older.

The Saengerbund is holding a Silvester Feier New Year’s Eve celebration 3-7 p.m. Dec. 31. Emil Schanta will entertain 4-7 p.m.

There is a cost, which includes dinner, beer and refreshments.

Coplay Food Bank is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month. The food bank is located in the lower level of the municipal building.
