Roughies Report: Winter coats, apparel distribution to be held Nov. 20

Any student in the Catasauqua Area School District who needs a coat this winter season can come to the Keep Catty Kids Warm winter coat distribution taking place 9 a.m.-noon Nov. 20 at the CASD administration office, 201 N. 14th St., Catasauqua. If you don’t need a coat but need a hat or gloves, you can stop in and pick those up, too.

Proof of residency is required.

Support the Catasauqua High School marching band by purchasing either a strudel for the month of November or a lottery calendar for the month of December. Lottery calendars are $5 each and based off the three-digit number drawn during the Pennsylvania Lottery evening drawing.

Band members are selling these items, and they will also be sold at the home CHS Rough Rider football games. You can also place an order by contacting the band at catasauquamusicarts.com.

The Catasauqua Rough Riders are hosting an ugly sweater fundraiser to benefit the field hockey team. The deadline to purchase is Nov. 21.

High school students will be dismissed 11 a.m. Nov. 24.

CASD will be closed Nov. 25-29 in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

Tickets for the 98th annual Thanksgiving Day football game, set for Nov. 25, between CHS and Northampton Area High School are now on sale 8:15 a.m.-2:45 p.m. daily in both schools’ athletic offices. Tickets can also be purchased at Hartzell’s Pharmacy, 300 American St., Catasauqua.

Advance tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens. Tickets purchased at the game will be $7.

All tickets sold in advance and at the game are general admission. The last day to purchase advance tickets will be Nov. 23.
