State Rep. Zach Mako, R-183rd, addresses the crowd. Mako, who is a veteran himself, said there are 17.4 million veterans in the United States, which accounts for 5 percent of the country's population.

A joint rifle squad from VFW Post 4714, CWV Post 454 and American Legion Post 353 presents arms during the program.

The closing prayer for the Veterans Day service is provided by Carl Wunderler, chaplain of VFW Post 4714.
