The?City of Allentown?Department of?Parks and Recreation?will begin holding monthly lifeguard certification classes starting next month to expand opportunities for individuals to obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard Certifications.
Classes will run on the following dates: Dec. 3-5, Jan. 7-9, 2022, Feb. 4-6, 2022, March 4-6, 2022, April 1-3, 2022 and May 6-8, 2022.
Classes are open to anyone at least 15-years of age.
Registration for a class is online at www.allentownparksandrec.com.
“Students can take advantage of any of these seven classes to earn their certification and qualify for a good summer job at a city pool,” Mayor Ray O’Connell said. “The opportunity is there to work steadily from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.”
The city of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation Department has lifeguarding job opportunities available for the 2022 summer season with a starting pay rate of $14 per hour.
Lifeguard applicants must be at least 16 years of age.??
