North Catasauqua: Catty Seniors Plus will meet early due to holiday

The Catty Seniors Plus group is meeting Nov. 17 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Doors will open noon, and the meeting will begin 1 p.m.

There will be an election of officers and sign-ups for the Christmas party. Bingo will be played, and dessert will be served.

All attendees must be vaccinated against COVID-19.

North Catasauqua Police Department has partnered with PAIR, Police Assisting In Recovery, through Northampton County. The program helps individuals with drug and narcotic addictions locate treatment providers and recovery centers.

Officers can meet individuals with drug addictions at a hospital, recovery center or police station for an assessment.

The program is available 8 a.m.-midnight, seven days a week.

Locations that provide help include Change on Main, 1830 Main St., Northampton; Hope Center, 429 E. Broad St., Bethlehem; Oasis, 3410 Bath Pike, Bethlehem; A Clean Slate, 100 S. First St., Bangor; and Palmer Recovery Center, 2906 William Penn Highway, Easton.

Anyone with an addiction or those helping an individual can call PAIR at 484-613-7828 or contact Lehigh County Communications Center at 610-437-5252, and a police officer will be able to assist.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., regular hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. Donations of clean, used clothing in good condition are appreciated during store hours.

Proceeds are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.
