To the Editor:

On Oct. 23, my wife and I decided to go to the Roxy Theatre in Northampton, not realizing the Northampton Halloween parade was being held that evening.

Not knowing how to get around the barricades set up for the parade, I rolled down my window to ask a young man directions. In no time at all, he had enlisted another young man to remove the barricades and give us directions to the theater.

Once inside the theater, another young fellow insisted on buying my wife and me popcorn or a candy bar of our choosing.

Many thanks to these young men for their help and kindness.
